Project Description

Ideally located in close proximity to downtown Nashville, Uptown Flats serves as a catalyst for the transformation of an inner-city commercial strip. Serving as the Architect-of-Record, and working in association with Smith Gee Studio, Moody Nolan designed this new housing development which is part of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2).

Design Features

This three-story apartment building consists of 72 one-, two- and three-bedroom units, with an exterior parking area. Designed to provide a dynamic façade to the corner of Gatewood Avenue and Dickerson Pike, the building features juliet balconies, locally inspired materials and colors as well as lush planter boxes and landscaping.

The project achieved LEED for Homes Gold certification and features rainwater gardens, visible to the surrounding community as well as environmentally friendly building materials and finishes.
