When new leadership took over the Columbus Crew Soccer Club, the immediate need for a new training facility became apparent. The team’s previous training facility was small and located 30 minutes away from their stadium.
Working closely with the Columbus Crew ownership and team leaders, the design team created a world-class training facility, close to their stadium and designed to feel like home.
A Soccer Oasis
Located directly adjacent to the existing stadium, it’s the only MLS facility to convert a soccer-specific stadium into a larger training complex.
To enhance the outdoor experience and offer privacy from the bustling activity nearby, the design incorporated a green berm, giving the three full-sized hydronically heated soccer pitches an oasis-like feeling.
