Marriott Marquis Hotel
Project Description
Working with Architect of Record Goettsch Partners, Moody Nolan was the Associate Architect within a design-build team for this new hotel in Chicago. The Marriott Marquis, a convention center hotel brand, includes a 40-floor tower with 1,205 guest rooms. It also features 93,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, 43,000 sq. ft. of breakout space, two 25,000 sq. ft. ballrooms, as well as a signature event space on the 33rd floor offering striking views of Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago. The Marriott Marquis links directly to the McCormick Place Convention Center and Wintrust Arena via two pedestrian bridges. Moody Nolan served as the Architect of Record for the Wintrust Arena.

Design Features
The new hotel is part of a redevelopment plan to transform the surrounding neighborhood into a vibrant entertainment district. The hotel project included the renovation of the historic American Book Company Building (“ABC Building”) at 330 E. Cermak Road and adjacent to a new data center to be constructed by a third party developer at the corner of 21st street and Calumet Avenue.
