Hilton Downtown Columbus
Project Description
Moody Nolan was associate architect to HOK on the design of the Hilton Columbus Downtown. This 535-room full service hotel is attached to the Greater Columbus Convention Center and is central to an initiative by the City of Columbus to attract larger conventions. The constraints of the site favored an atrium concept for the hotel, and the resulting atrium design brought a dramatic new public space to the downtown.

The Process
Hotel reception and concierge is at the street level, and the atrium begins on the second floor. A dramatic circular stair connects the reception lobby with the second floor atrium which houses a full service restaurant and bar. A large kitchen on the same level serves the restaurant as well as a ballroom and various sized meeting rooms on several floors. Other hotel amenities include a fitness center, swimming pool, coffee shop and small retail shop. The room mix includes a presidential and vice presidential suite, executive and hospitality suites and a large executive lounge.
