The form of the building is created via a double-loaded office bar wrapping around itself and uncoiling toward the public street intersection, forming a point of entry and an interior glass enclosed atrium. A malleable solid wrapped around a voided center. The concept is informed by notions of motion and lift, trajectory, and momentum.
Big geometric moves unfold inside a soaring atrium, allowing natural light to permeate workplace and collaboration spaces. As a progressive company, the interior of the facility capitalizes on the latest technologies and environmental planning concepts allowing for more efficient and functional environments. A large, sunlight filled atrium is the heart of the building, surrounded and overlooked by offices.
A later addition extends this same design language onto an adjoining site, continuing the building’s dynamism of flight and strengthening the connection between old and new into a single, unified campus. The same movement and geometry carry through the addition’s interior, joined to the original building by an enclosed connector, with a sunken pocket garden below offering staff a place for outdoor respite.
The end result is a sleek, sculptured celebration of 21st Century materiality.
High Performance Design
Sustainable features are included inside and out. A wide variety of regional and recycled materials are incorporated into the details. Natural daylight is maximized and lighting efficiently controlled, including a large skylight over the atrium that uses electro-chromic glass technology to control heat gain while bathing the atrium in sunlight.
