Healthy Habits, Healthy Buildings

A new, innovative nine story, recreation center at The University of Pittsburgh proves that sustainability, recreation elements, and tight urban sites can coexist.
Moody Nolan worked with the University to create a high-performance building dedicated to fostering wellbeing. Opening in the Fall of this year, the center will anchor student life activity with a design that leverages the unique hillside site, connecting the upper and lower portions of campus with a pedestrian throughway.
The project showcases the university’s commitment to sustainability with a green roof, PV installation and leveraging the topography to manage 100% of stormwater.
We reimagine recreation centers, exploring new ways to nurture the mind-body connection with spaces that foster a sense of belonging and wholistic wellbeing.
