Flexible learning environments for every student’s needs.
With a focus on flexible learning environments and an increased projected enrollment, the design of Greensview Elementary School was created to meet the expanding enrollment needs of the Upper Arlington School District.
Each learning neighborhood consists of varying room sizes the flex to accommodate classrooms, group gathering zones and independent study rooms. Each space opens into the collaborative commons area, creating a feeling of connection amongst learners.
Educational Neigborhoods
Composed of two floors with six learning neighborhoods, these neighborhoods are organized around a double-height media center that serves as a central hub of activity and learning for the entire school. The new corridor also doubles as an art gallery for students to show off their work.
Reconfigured Space
The shared art classrooms and administration area were both reconfigured to accommodate the needs of Upper Arlington’s growing student body. The new space offers line of sight throughout the building, offering moments of serendipitous connection among students and teachers.
