Situated within the residential, metropolitan suburb of Columbus, Ohio, the new high school serves as an inviting, modern learning environment for over 2,000 students.
Based on a two-year master planning endeavor for the Upper Arlington School District, the school’s commitment to educational excellence through their core values of collaboration and innovation was brought to life via a brand-new high school.
Strategically designed learning spaces are located inside a two-story learning center within the academic building core. Administration and counseling offices are dispersed, ensuring that students have immediate access to services when needed.
Central boulevard
Seeking an interconnected and modern learning environment, a broad, multipurpose “boulevard” was strategically incorporated, which operates as the school’s central core and commons. This path connects academics, musical arts, and athletic programs into one, seamlessly engaging facility.
Flexible learning
The interconnected layout promotes flexible instruction, enhancing student engagement and positioning them for future success. Keeping in line with the flexible learning environment, numerous lounge and meeting spaces with modular furniture offer various configurations for students to create their ideal social and learning environments.
The new school also features an expanded performing arts program which includes a 1500-seat auditorium and black box theater, in addition to chorus, band, and orchestra classrooms.
