Located minutes from downtown Nashville, the new center provides a convenient, full-service educational and event space for the prestigious HBCU.

Designed to bring people together, the new space serves as a destination where students and professionals collaborate on solutions to global healthcare challenges.

Previously facilitated at venues around the city, the new center hosts medical, dental, biomedical, civic, social, and educational conferences at a national and local level. With events happening in one location, the building is a hub for the Nashville community to gather, discuss, and collaborate on solutions to global healthcare challenges.

The new building features a 500-seat auditorium, 600 seat ballroom, study spaces, classroom spaces, a food court, visitor center, offices and meeting/conference spaces for all levels of university functions.

The building’s open concept features a front quarter of floor-to-ceiling glass windows, filling the space with natural light and allowing the surrounding community to become part of the experience.

The overall solid exterior is fenestrated with small vertical patterns similar to a DNA sequence.

The solid envelope is carved away by flowing sculptural forms that highlight internal connections and movement.

The result is a high performing façade, metaphorically representing the scientific discoveries discussed within.
