Driven by our own distinction as the largest Black-owned design firm in the country, our commitment to HBCU’s is both personal and professional. Throughout our 40-year history, we’ve collaborated with and designed for the country’s HBCUs—helping reinforce their educational reputation and cultural vibrancy.

Our design approach creates dynamic places of learning, cultural preservation, and community connection, while investing in the next generation of minority architects.

We know the challenges HBCU’s face—from outdated infrastructure to lack of funding—we reimaging what’s possible for each campus. With dozens of HBCU alumni hailing from eight different HBCU’s, our connection to and passion for, serving these campuses is unmatched. We bring first hand knowledge of the cultural and historical sensitivities of these institutions, helping to increase enrollment and retain students long term.

We apply our understanding of the contemporary higher education landscape to the esteemed legacy of these institutions. Our diverse portfolio of  work—from higher education to corporate offices and professional sporting venues‒catalyzes economic growth around campuses and accelerates entrepreneurial innovation within the academic community.

With only 2% of licensed architects identifying as Black, we understand the importance of representation in our field. We engage with students across their entire academic career, offering mentorship and professional opportunities—an ongoing investment next generation of minority architects.
