High Performance Design
The building appears as a monolithic concrete structure but conceals a multitude of energy-conserving systems and measures, including double slabs, structural thermal isolators, and insulated precast concrete panels. Triple silver glazing and a vertical Brise-soleil control solar heat gain while preserving natural light and views.
Cutting-edge design, natural daylighting, high-performance construction, exposed natural materials, and clear organization combine to provide the University with a LEED Gold facility that promotes education, healthy living, and a new home for the College of Health Sciences.
A hub for training
The building is not only a hub for learning and training, it also serves the public and local community through its clinic and acts as a beacon for UC’s personalized outreach programs within the greater Cincinnati region.
