The updated glass façade maintains design language of the existing precast structure while providing transparency and daylight in the entry space, maximizing views of the gathering plaza.
Connecting the campus and community
The updated Fifth Third Arena maximizes the use of space within the given volume while providing generous views to the court and cultivating the fan experience. The student energy and enthusiasm is captured in dedicated seating areas maximizing the riser and sightlines for students on their feet.
The renovated seating layout optimizes views for the 12,012 spectators, with a new upper concourse to provide two 360° concourses with court-centric seating. Expanded concessions offer selections from Cincinnati restaurants. To celebrate Cincinnati’s rich brewing heritage, local craft breweries and bars are featured throughout.
Elevating the energy
A new center-hung video board and ribbon board around the front of the upper bowl provides the patron with the intense experience fans have come to expect.
Environmental graphics throughout the renovated facility provide wayfinding cues, illustrate university’s rich history and amp up the energy unique to the Bearcats.
Centering athletic performance
Enhancing the player experience and providing a recruitment facility were also project goals. The team and coach locker rooms were completely renovated and infused with branding, graphics and unique design features, like the Cincinnati skyline panorama across the locker faces. A film room, training suite, and team dining room were massaged into the existing footprint.
