To further strategic growth on this preeminent HBCU campus, the new student housing development catalyzes ongoing student recruitment and retention.
The building forms a new campus hub for student activity and strives to enliven campus culture by creating robust space for gathering.
Designed to pay homage to Thurgood Marshall, former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, his legacy is woven throughout the space with environmental depictions of his civic contributions.
World-Class Dining
A critical component of this plan’s progress is the creation of a new, world-class student residence hall and dining facility. The 24-hour dining space features 13 food stations with a large variety of options to suit diverse preferences.
A Place to Call Home
Thurgood Marshall Hall provides a mix of semi-suite and apartment-style housing, including 670 beds for undergraduate and graduate students, and dining facility serving the entire student population. Amenities include group study areas, a fitness center, and convenience store, forming a “live, dine, learn” nexus for students.
Both the University and the design team focused on enhancing student success with the creation of a vibrant new live learn community that feels like home.
