A gateway to the medical campus, providing urgent and primary care services to an at-risk community.
Located in the heart of the Illinois Medical District and at the fringe of the University’s West Campus, the building acts as a gateway to the medical campus. The design is sensitive to the fabric of the urban campus, prioritizing human scale entry-points that create an approachable experience.

Future Flexibility
Flexible and open-plan clinical spaces were prioritized to enable long-term operational agility. The center is designed to accommodate an urgent care clinic, pharmacy, radiology, labs, administrative offices, dentistry, and a women, infants and children sub-practice.
A series of garden spaces along Roosevelt Avenue provide respite from the urban environment, a key component of the center’s wellness mission. The expansive glass façade allows patients inside to have visual connections to nature.
A green roof terrace on the third floor creates a contemplative space that offers expansive views of the city beyond, while playing an integral role in the storm water management master plan.
