Open and inviting academic spaces that support collaborative learning.
The 100-year old facility reimagines how to support an accessible and collaborative learning environment for middle and high school students.
Moments of respite are tucked throughout the space, offering students opportunities to self-select the space and pace that feels best.
Access to daylight
The interior environment is open and inviting, with the use of glass and garage doors to provide flexibility and transparency in support of active teaching and learning. Removing lockers widened the hallways and new windows allow 33% more natural light into the facility, which helps students and teachers feel their best.
Diverse modes of learning
The new building features classrooms with “huddle” spaces that allow students to break out to separate areas to work individually or in small groups or to meet privately with teachers. Classrooms are clustered around a centrally located media center and other support areas.
