Kathryn is a visionary architect with more than four decades of experience in the field. Director of Operations at Moody Nolan’s D.C. office, Kathryn is a passionate and dedicated leader who places the human experience, the environment, and historical precedent at the forefront of her work.

Kathryn is a firm believer in the transformative power of dynamic architecture and urban design in creating cohesive and integrated communities. Her design philosophy is shaped by her education and background in academia, emphasizing the importance of form following function to create impactful and effective spaces.

Highly accomplished and esteemed in her field, Kathryn has led award-winning projects of varying complexity for federal, private, and defense clients, demonstrating her expertise in design, engineering, and project management. Her impressive portfolio includes work on the National Operations Center, the Pentagon, and the Level IV Department of Homeland Security US Customs and Immigration Services Headquarters, among others. She is a distinguished Fellow of the AIA, a member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), and the Society of Building Science Educators (SBSE).

Kathryn is an educator of architecture, engineering, and sustainable design who leads by fostering learning and empowerment, and has taught as an adjunct professor at Howard University and Virginia Polytechnic & State University’s Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center.
