Brian champions diversity in the practice, by amplifying underrepresented voices and advocating for equity in architecture education.
As Managing Partner of Moody Nolan, Brian regularly leads multidisciplinary team for some of the firms largest and most complex projects. Brian’s leadership has expanded Moody Nolan’s geographic reach, extending to new offices in Boston and New York. As leader of the Nashville office, his work is instrumental in the ongoing vitality of the city, where he has facilitated the design and delivery of iconic projects like Music City Center.
Brian is regularly invited by industry leaders to facilitate and engage in conversations about diversity and inclusion in the practice. Today, he is seen as a national champion for diversity and inclusion across the profession. His focus on uplifting communities and reinforcing a cultural sense of place serves as a catalyst to inspire women and people of color to enter the profession and become the next generation of leaders in the field.
Brian is a distinguished Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a member of industry organizations including NCARB, NOMA, Metro Planning Commission, and a member and past chair of the Metropolitan Nashville Zoning Commission. In addition to his previous work with many local Nashville organizations, Brian is currently chairman of Horizons School at the University of Nashville. Brian holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology as well as a Music degree from the University of Alabama.
