Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
Moody Nolan joined the Design Build team with tvsdesign, led by Lendlease Construction LMB Inc. and Turner Construction for the 1,200,000 sq. ft., $1.55B expansion of the Manhattan convention center. Moody Nolan’s specific role is the design and construction of the marshaling area, which supports the movement of exhibit and concert equipment, materials and deliveries on a very dense urban site.
Year of Completion
The design of the new facilities are anticipated to include a minimum of: a four level on-site marshaling facility, 27 loading docks, 45,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, pre-function space and a roof terrace for outdoor events (includes a expanded green roof area that can hold 1,500 people. Additional key elements include 90,000 sq. ft. of new exhibition space and a 55,000 sq. ft. ballroom and kitchen/food service areas. This project is expected to receive LEED Silver Certification.
