The Playhouse is Cincinnati’s national theatre, committed to bringing diverse and engaging works of artistry to the community.
Located in Eden Park, the site contains steep hillsides at the edge of the historic Mount Adams neighborhood. The repositioned building makes the most of the topographic challenges by integrating arrival and gathering spaces into the fabric of the playhouse experience.
The renovated space creates avenues for advanced theatrical productions, with state-of-the-art state technology that surpasses audience expectations. New rehearsal rooms feature windows that over-look Eden Park with a revamped costume shop, a crew lounge, a new green room, and perhaps most importantly to cast members—real dressing rooms.
Natural light floods the pre-function space with floor to ceiling windows that gently curve, enticing visitors to socialize before and after shows time.
