The Process

The new community recreation center, located in Williams Farm Park is adjacent to three elementary schools and a middle school, offers recreation activities from pre-school childcare and youth camps to teen sports and senior adult programs. The center includes a double basketball court-sized gym with retractable bleacher seating for 200, a multipurpose recreation pool with zero beach entry and three 25 yard lap lanes, a group exercise studio and a large elevated fitness area and walking/ jogging track with views into the pool, gym, lobby and park. A large multipurpose room is dividable and adjacent to a catering kitchen and the Lighthouse Lounge where senior adult programs originate. Three classrooms serve licensed childcare as well as general class instructional needs. Moody Nolan served as the planner and design architect for this community center with HBA as the architect of record and Counsilman Hunsaker & Associates serving as the aquatics consultant.
