University Event Center

Project Description

With a graduation seating capacity of nearly 6,000, the University will be able to continue its long-held tradition of allowing every graduating student the privilege of bringing their whole family to the celebration. As many of the students are first generation college graduates, this tradition is an emotional one that brings a feeling of pride as the University brings the ceremony back to campus.

The facility is the home for the men’s and women’s basketball and the women’s volleyball teams, giving them a premier competition venue and locker rooms. Competition seating capacity is 5,300, including standing room. The athletes are able to utilize the satellite strength training room as well as the sports medicine training facility within the building.

Other events, including speakers, banquets, concerts, and athletic tournaments, allow for a maximum seating capacity of 6,280. The facility also includes administrative offices, a full cooking kitchen, concession stands, meeting rooms, accommodations for the media, three visiting team locker rooms, and a Hall of Fame. The Event Suite on the main concourse has an outdoor balcony that looks out over the historic main campus towards The Hill.
