Design Features

This new headquarters and training facility supports one of the largest regions of Canine Companions for Independence in the US, which serves 13 and one half states. Canine Companions is the largest provider of assistance dogs in the world and all follow-up support is provided free of charge to recipients. These highly trained dogs serve the special needs of disabled children, adults and veterans; facility dogs placed in hospitals, court rooms, and other public places as well as hearing support.

The entire campus is universally designed to accommodate any sort of need. Multiple components were integrated into the new 16-acre site, such as an administration building, kennel, training facility and guest house. The organization hosts four “graduation” ceremonies per year, where the dogs are teamed with their new recipient and spend two weeks training together. The new campus allows the on-site housing for those training periods, which was not on the existing campus
