Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center
Project Description
Moody Nolan was commissioned as Design Architect to update and expand the existing program spaces for this renovation and addition. The primary goal of the student center renovation was to provide all of the necessary program space needed within one identifiable building on campus to improve recruitment and retention of students. The building is a hybrid facility combing the functions of a student union with those of a student recreation center as is appropriate for a regional campus with a commuter population.

Design Features
The renovation improves circulation throughout the facility and across the split level site to insure all program areas are visible and physically accessible. The building adds auxiliary fitness and athletic spaces to relieve scheduling conflicts at the gymnasium. Daylight openings between the existing spaces and the new interior and exterior weave a thread through this building to create one cohesive facility.
