The new recreation and aquatic center in the City of Plano, Texas, (population 240,000) includes a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, arts and crafts studio, pre-school program area, fitness center with dedicated children’s fitness space, elevated track, group exercise studio, an 8-lane 25-yard competition pool and both indoor and outdoor leisure pools. The Center is located in a city park with a creek bisecting the site which influenced the design. The architecture incorporates native limestone and heavy timbers to reflect a contemporary Texas ranch style.
