Moody Nolan was responsible to design a new corporate office center for OhioHealth’s Administrative office in Columbus, Ohio. The master plan was to accommodate four new buildings, and a one multi-story parking garage. Characteristically of a successful company, the organization grew and they found themselves located in seven different buildings throughout Central Ohio. Due to the multiple locations, OhioHealth had workers traveling from various locations; the first step in the project was a study to determine how large the phase-one portion should be in order to accommodate these employees.

Moody Nolan was selected to lead the renovation of this 42 bed NICU on the fourth floor of the Yellow Building at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Particular care and planning was required to meet the varied and numerous programming needs of OhioHealth and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the available space of this joint project. Moody Nolan collaborated with Judy Smith of Smith Hager Bajo to implement the latest NICU and women’s health operational concepts.

This is the first non-military simulation center to be designed and built in the country and focuses on staff training and education. Through the use of human patient simulators and other advances in medical education technology, the Center for Medical Education and Innovation (CME&I) enables Riverside to simulate patients and the patient experience in a wide variety of clinical situations. The planning accommodates three distinctly functional areas: a conference suite, laboratory skills center and Virtual Care Unit (VCU)™.
