Bentley Hall was originally built as a 57,000 sq. ft. gymnasium and was converted to classrooms and offices in the early 1960s. Moody Nolan led the complete renovation and addition of this building which houses the departments of history, economics, political science and sociology/anthropology. The project included adding computer labs, student lounges and modernizing the teaching technology as well as the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Faculty offices were accommodated in the new five-story, 50,000 sq. ft. freestanding addition immediately adjacent to the renovated building. A covered walkway connects the two structures.
