Moody Nolan and its leaders continue to be recognized for their contributions to the community and to the industry.

On February 13, The Columbus Foundation honored Moody Nolan as the largest African American owned architectural firm in the United States. The recognition came at the foundation’s annual National Number Ones luncheon. The event highlights the accomplishments of community leaders and organizations whose industries recognized them during 2019 for significant impact on their fields.

Meanwhile, Moody Nolan CEO Jonathan Moody on February 18 was one of three central Ohio leaders named to a national list of 100 executives to watch in 2020.

The executives featured in The Business Journals’ “Influencers: People We’re Watching in 2020” were chosen by editors and staff writers of the media group’s network of more than 40 publications, including Columbus Business First.

Jonathan was featured in Business First’s Dec. 12, 2019 issue after Moody Nolan announced his elevation to CEO, effective January 1. He joined the Columbus Crew’s Steve Lyons and The Ohio State University’s Trudy Bartley on the national list of 100.

Finally, the City of Columbus honored Moody Nolan Chairman Curt Moody for his contributions to the community and his profession by naming him a James Preston Poindexter Award winner.

Each year, Columbus City Council presents a celebration of African American history and presents the Poindexter Award to honor the success and shaping of Columbus. The award is named after the first black member of the Columbus City Council.

City Council President Shannon G. Hardin, Councilmember Priscilla Tyson and other notable guests honored Curt on February 19 along with John H. Gregory, founder of the National African American Male Wellness Walk; Ann B. Walker, a transformational leader in public service; Francisca Figueroa, former Columbus firefighter; and Willie L. Gaddis, a transformational leader in the faith community.

Curt’s award was based on his efforts within the African American community, his professional and civic commitment, and his strong and effective leadership and service in the community.
