  1. Transmission Building

American Electric Power turned to Moody Nolan to design the new corporate headquarters for their rapidly growing Transmission Group. The building is nestled into an existing hardwood stand in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. The site plan provides for parking, but also access to a bike path, an internal walking path and a large outdoor dining terrace. Previously the Transmission Group was located in an “old school” facility with closed offices lining the exterior walls, blocking the daylight and views from the building interior where most of the staff worked. The interior cubicles were six foot high and did not foster interaction, a situation made worse by a lack of other collaborative spaces and a shortage of meeting rooms.
